Kuldeep lost his parents some years ago. His new family is the community. The community cares for him, supports him – he wants to give back. He says, because of them he never had to hide his sexuality. The privilege of always being able to love whoever you want has been won by an older generation. Kuldeep is grateful for that. That is why he is committed to the “Mumbai Seenagers”; an initiative for older gay men who come together to exchange ideas in a protected space. For a large part of their lives, they pretended to be someone else, hiding their identity and sexuality, some of them in heterosexual marriages. Or they simply ceased to exist. Some live without their family, are lonely in old age and tell their story openly for the first time in Kuldeep’s documentary “Secrets of Seenagers”.
